CanMNT 🇨🇦 to play Iceland, Tunisia in March friendlies in Toronto? | OneSoccer Direct
Canada's next opponents on the road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be Iceland and Tunisia on March 28 and 31.
OneSoccer has learned that both of those nations will also play against Haiti in Toronto in a four-team tournament. Canada and Haiti will not play during the window.
The 27th-ranked Canada will use the matches against the 41st-ranked Tunisia and 74th-ranked Iceland as part of key preparations ahead of this summer's tournament. Canada also recently announced a June 1 friendly against Uzbekistan in Edmonton.

Tunisia were drawn into Group F at the 2026 World Cup alongside the Netherlands, Japan and the winner of UEFA Path B, one of Ukraine, Sweden, Poland or Albania. Canada has played Tunisia just once, in 1984, a 2-0 loss in Tunis in an international friendly.
Iceland, meanwhile, failed to qualify for the World Cup, finishing third in their qualifying group behind the aforementioned Ukraine and France. It was their second straight tournament missed after appearing for the first time at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Canada has never defeated Iceland in four previous international meetings, the most recent of which came on January 15, 2020, a 1-0 loss.
A further opponent is expected to be announced soon for a previously confirmed send-off friendly in June to be played in Montréal.
