Highlights

For the second time this season, Valour and Pacific have split the points at Princess Auto Stadium, as they traded first-half goals in a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

In a game where both teams needed to win to boost their dwindling playoff hopes, they were unable to find the decisive moment required to make that happen, leaving them to share a point apiece, knowing that the two points they dropped will loom large with seven games left in the season.

Yann Toualy almost put Pacific ahead in the 13th minute, as he danced through a few Valour defenders before firing a shot, one that Valour's Emil Gazdov did well to get himself in front of to make the save.

Just minutes later, though, Valour would open the scoring, as Diogo Ressurreição whipped in a perfect ball from the right side, finding the run of Diego Konincks, who guided his powerful header into the back of the net to make it 1-0.

That lead wouldn't last long, however, as Pacific found an equalizer in the 21st minute. After Dario Zanatta was deemed to have been fouled by Alarcón, Alejandro Díaz stepped up to take it, and he'd find the bottom-left corner with his shot to tie the game at 1-1.

Valour had a good chance to regain their lead in the 32nd minute, as Kianz Froese found the space to get off a good shot, but his low effort dragged just wide of the goal.

Meanwhile, less than a minute later, they almost scored a spectacular goal, as Kris Twardek found Diogo Ressurreição at the back post, leading to an acrobatic kick attempt from the Valour midfielder, who sent his audacious effort just wide of the goal.

Shortly after, Pacific came close to a spectacular goal of their own in the 40th minute, as Aly Ndom fired a powerful shot from distance, forcing a nice stop out of Gazdov to keep it out. Then, Lukas Browning Lagerfeldt got good contact on a cross from Marco Bustos on the ensuing corner, but his header sailed just over the goal.

On the other side of half time, Valour did well to come out strongly, and almost scored in the 52nd minute, as Twardek had a powerful shot stopped by Pacific's Sean Melvin, before Jordan Faria sent the subsequent rebound over the goal despite having a lot of the net to aim at.

Minutes later, Aly Ndom had a great chance for Pacific on a corner, as he got on the end of a good ball from Aidan Daniels, slotting his left-footed attempt just wide of the goal from close range.

Eager to regain their lead, Valour had a decent attempt in the 65th minute, as Xavier Venâncio fired a shot from distance, but he'd be unable to keep his shot on target. Then, Raphael Ohin had a similar attempt from long distance in the 83rd minute, but he too carved his shot just wide.

Valour would then have a glorious chance to score in the 84th minute, as Kelsey Egwu had a shot from inside the box, but he sent his attempt right at Melvin.

At the other end of the pitch, Marco Bustos himself had a nice opportunity in the 86th minute, nearly putting Pacific ahead with a powerful shot from the edge of the box, but Gazdov did well to his shot just over the crossbar.

From there, though, despite a desperate flurry of energy from both sides, neither would be able to find a winner, leaving them to settle for the draw.
