Canada Soccer announced on Thursday that the Canadian men’s national team will take on 2024 Copa América finalists Colombia in an international friendly on Tuesday, October 14 in Harrison, New Jersey.

The match kicks off at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT at Sports Illustrated Stadium, the home of the New York Red Bulls. The match will be available live on OneSoccer. Colombia are the home team for this match.

Canada last played Colombia in October 2014, also at Sports Illustrated Stadium, in a match they lost 1-0 on a 75th-minute goal from James Rodriguez.

Their most famous match against Colombia came in the final of the 2000 Concacaf Gold Cup, when Canada triumphed 2-0 to win the continental competition. Their only other international meeting came back in a friendly on March 30, 1988, with the legendary Carlos Valderrama scoring in a 3-0 victory for Los Cafeteros.

Colombia currently sit 14th in the FIFA rankings, 16 spots above Canada. They have struggled a little bit in World Cup qualifying of late, however, with just one win in their past eight matches. They sit in the sixth and final automatic qualifying spot from CONMEBOL with two matches remaining in South American qualifiers.

Canada are set to play an additional friendly during the October window in Montréal at Stade Saputo, against an opponent who is still to be determined. CanMNT also take on Romania in Bucharest, and Wales in Swansea in September.
