On Tuesday, Canada Soccer unveiled its 21-player squad for the 2025 U-17 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Canada were drawn into the tournament’s Group K. They open the tournament against Uganda on Wednesday, Nov. 5 (10:45 a.m. ET), take on France on Saturday, November 8 (8:30 a.m. ET), and Chile on Nov. 11 (7:30 a.m. ET). The top two sides from each group advance, as well as the eight best third-place teams, as the competition expands to 48 nations for the first time.

The Canadian squad features two Canadian Premier League players, York United attacker Shola Jimoh, and Atlético Ottawa central defender Sergei Kozlovskiy. Jimoh already has five goals for Canada at the U-17 level. He has three assists this season for York United in 22 appearances.

Kozlovskiy, meanwhile, played a key role for Atlético Ottawa this season despite only turning 17 on June 18. He made 21 appearances for Atleti in his first professional season. Kozlovskiy has served as the captain for the Canadian U-17 side, scoring four times in ten appearances.

The squad is also highlighted by a number of players who played crucial roles during the qualifying cycle. This includes Fulham striker Aidan Evans, who had seven goals during Concacaf qualifiers, Feyernoord academy midfielder Kevin Khan, and dynamic CF Damm winger André Ali-Gayapersad.

Forward Owen Graham-Roache, meanwhile, made six appearances this season for CF Montréal in MLS, while defender Stefan Kapor recently signed a deal with the Toronto FC first team.

This is Canada’s ninth appearance at a FIFA U-17 World Cup, however, they still have not won a match at the competition. Canada’s camp opens on Oct. 24, and they will play a closed-door friendly against Germany on Oct. 30 prior to the tournament.
