CanMNT to play Ecuador in November friendly at BMO Field

On Tuesday, Canada Soccer announced that the Canadian men’s national team will be playing an international friendly against Ecuador on Thursday, November 13 at Toronto’s BMO Field.
The match is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT and will be available live on OneSoccer.
Ecuador are currently ranked 25th by FIFA, three spots above Canada in 28th. They have already qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, currently sitting second in CONMEBOL qualifiers. It will be the fifth time Ecuador have reached the World Cup in the past seven editions.
Canada and Ecuador have met on one other occasion, a 2-2 draw at BMO Field back in 2011. Their current squad includes a lot of exciting talents, including recent Arsenal signing Piero Hincapié, PSG central defender Willian Pacho, Chelsea midfielder Moisés Caicedo, former Vancouver Whitecap Pedro Vite and all-time leading goalscorer Enner Valencia.
Canada will announce one further friendly in the November international window to complete their 2025 match schedule. They are also scheduled to take on Romania in Bucharest (September 5), Wales in Swansea (September 9), Australia in Montréal (October 10) and Colombia in New Jersey (October 14).
These matches will all serve as a crucial part of Canada’s preparations before co-hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they will also kick off their tournament at BMO Field in June.
